3D Wall Panels Installation
In 2017, I fitted these decorative wall panels - one per three small sections of our house.

I'm very happy with my 3d wall panelled walls.
They can be a great, quick and easy solution for an accent in your home.
First, you'll need to prep the wall by cleaning and possibly removing loose bits and filling holes.
TIP: Note, this is NOT ideal for any walls you have sockets, switches or a space you plan to hang pictures, etc on.
Next, I found centre of the wall as a guide.
You can do this by drawing a straight upright line with a spirit level, or use a nail, string and weight and draw where it lies.
I applied grab adhesive along all areas that would touch the wall.
RENTERS: Note, I would NOT do any of this without your landlord's permission.
I then pressed on the wall, lining the centre of it with my centre line on the wall and repeated until I got to the top.
Next, I measured the gap I was left with at the top.
After transferring this measurement on the back of my wall tile, I cut out carefully with a Stanley knife.
Then pushed on the wall as before and caulked around all of the edges.
I applied wooden beading along the sides where gap was - luckily stores sell them in various sizes and painted.
Then to fill any joins with decorator's caulk and smoothed over with a wet rag and left to dry.
Then painted all the 3d wall panels with washable wall paint.
I then repeated on the other side and this is how it looked!

Put colored chalk on your string before you hang it with the weight. When it stops moving, hold the weight down with one hand and gently 'ping' the string against the wall with the other hand. A straight chalk line will then be
marked on the wall. This is called a plumb line. Small devices can be pre-purchased in the painting and wallpaper department.
