I would like to know how to get rid those pesty little sink/drain flies. I've tried baking soda and vinegar, drain cleaners and put plastic over the drains.
It takes a while to collect them, but has usually worked well for us. You could try those fly paper roles you stick to the ceiling with a thumb tack and pull the paper out. They are tacky looking but do a great job with black flies so it may work with gnats too.

For the gnats and fruit flies we use the cardboard sticky traps for mice, You can get a package of these a Walmart for a reasonable price.. Just peel off the protective plastic cover , lay it flat and put a small piece of decaying fruit in the center of it. They will land and be stuck for good.
I have tried many things. However, I have found the best thing they are attracted to is a SOUR BEER!!!!!! Leave some out in a shallow cup and see them swarm! You might want to use plastic wrap with poked holes too to trap them in. When they are swarming you can also spray with hairspray but then you will have to start over with your trap. Good luck!
Wow the sticky traps sound interesting too...I will have to try that too!

Sticky trap tape or bug bomb the house.
Bug bombing the house requires putting away the things that sit out- like napkins, salt and pepper shakers and putting grocery bags over the toaster, blender, mixer etc, that are on the counter.

This is always so tough, I never find an option that works. Sometimes some wine with some fruit in a plastic cup covered in plastic wrap with a few holes catches a couple flies.
I was having problems with gnats and after doing some research, narrowed the source down to my potted plants. I poured a layer of sand (sand box or sidewalk gradient sand) over the top soil of each of my planters and within two-three days, we were gnat free. The sand has not bothered the growth of my plants nor the ease of watering.
Try a electronic "zapper".
We use THESE on Amazon and they work like a charm!
Hello, hope this helps. You need to be patient, but this method works
In a small bowl, mix a half cup of warm water plus two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, a tablespoon of sugar, and about six drops of liquid dish soap. Gnats will be lured in by the sugary mixture, but once they dip in for a drink, the sticky dish soap will trap them.
