What is a good oil for natural wood?
I have a beautiful hand made pine plate rack … it is not painted nor stained. I would like some suggestions of a nice oil or treatment to use on it which would only enhance the wood, not really add any color … yet something that will soak into the wood and not be oily on the dishes! Thanks.

Three coats of a water based polyurethane. Goes on milky dries clear. Oil based poly has a yellow cast to it and does yellow over time. Tung oil. It is clear, quick-drying, and penetrates the grain to enhance and protect the wood. Mineral Oil. Mineral oil is a broadly used term to describe a clear, odorless oil. Mineral oil is generally seen as non-toxic and food safe. In fact, it’s especially common on cutting boards, wood kitchen utensils, wood bowls, and any other wood products that frequently come into contact with food.

Tung Oil would be my recommendation. It will darken it a bit while bringing out the luster. I've also used Hemp Seed Oil but find that it takes forever to cure. Much longer than any other.
Hello that’s a good question. Normally I like both the beeswax and wink polish for a lovely luster and polish but they both are fairly oily. Hope you find the perfect solution.
My favorite oil to use for natural wood is Odie's Oil: https://amzn.to/33PMFDa
It's non-toxic, food safe, and solvent free. It's also easy to apply.
I’d use Restor-a-finish from Howard’s. It’s easy and has gorgeous results.
I love Walrus Oil
walnut oil is my preferance
I use walnut oil on all my food safe items that I make. I find it better than pure tung oil or a polymerized linseed oil. The later are other viable options and would probably work fine for you if you went that route. Between the three I find walnut oil to yellow less and is as easy or easier to apply.
