DIY Wood Range Hood for Our Farmhouse Kitchen
To save money we DIYed a simple wood range hood cover for our farmhouse kitchen. Our new white range hood with white subway tile back splash looks beautiful & brightens up our former dark kitchen!
A lot needed to happen in our kitchen before we could add this wood range hood. The first thing we did was take down all the upper cabinets on our oven wall. We also took down the faux beam on our kitchen ceiling & added beautiful white bead board in it's place.
Jason, my husband built a wood box to go above our kitchen stove with 2 by 4's to attach the vent hood insert to.
Using finished plywood & pine boards we covered over the insert & 2 by 4's. We finished off the vent hood with the same crown we are using in the rest of the kitchen.
The range hood was primed and painted white to brighten up the space. We finished off our wood range hood cover with some white subway tile underneath along with a pot filler. Our Wood Range Hood cover looks fabulous in our newly remodeled farmhouse kitchen.
