You can get an inexpensive throw from amazon and they start around $25. And these are tailored to fit different sizes of couches. They also are available in a very good color selection.
Hi Paula, a few tips... tuck in the sheets were ever you can. This will help it looked more tailored. If you can, i would also tack it down in a few spots. You can run some nails or staples along the bottom frame at the front and back or tuck it right under the front edge and tack it here.
That sounds great!!! thank you very much!
Hi! I often take a few stitches to tighten it up where you can't see them. Also, if you use a separate sheet to cover the cushions, it won't slip around as much. Good luck and stay safe!
Hi Paula. When you put the covers on you can slip a broom handle down at the back between the back and the cushions. This will prevent the cover from coming out.
You can buy the stretch cover for cheap enough and they fit all sizes. Sheets do not have much give so i don't think they will last long.
Hi Paula, you can buy slipcovers online. Here is an entire page on amazon.

They are easy to put on and you usually can find any style couch and love seat styles. I would do that before using sheets. I think you will like the result better and get more life out of your couch. They are affordable as well. You can even tack them down using a mallet and upholstery tacks so the slipcover won't come off.
If you really just want to use sheets, then you will need to use a long spoon or broom handle to get the sheets into the crevices. Don't use fitted sheets because it will make your life harder trying to fit that on around the arms. Good luck!
Paula: these people have some good products and a wide selection:

You can get couch covers that are like sheets, but larger so they fit the whole piece of furniture. I will warn you though, I've used these on old couches that we had in our college apartment and they come undone all of the time. So if you do decide to use these, I recommend sewing parts of it so it stays in place. You'll still have to tuck in the seams on a daily basis.
You could also try making your own slipcover if you have a sewing machine.

Peggy this is so helpful!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to research this for me! very kind thing to do.
I've seen people use a rug pad to anchor the slipcover on the couch. Just be careful that they don't mar the surface of the leather.
I don't know if you're wanting to cover the couches to protect them or just to change their appearance. If it's just to protect them from kids/pets, we use a Queen or King sized fitted sheet! It is so easy to throw on and take off/toss in the laundry, and they're a super inexpensive solution. And if that's not the kind of idea you were looking for, I apologize lol!
Fitted sheets cover best they will hold on with the elastic.
