Maybe nail polish remover?
Here's a post that might help - https://homeguides.sfgate.com/way-remove-adhesive-mosaic-tiles-68559.html
I'm not sure you can remove that easily. You might seek out completely clear pebbles instead.
Mineral spirits or a glue solvent might be strong enough. My husband's solution is usually gasoline which works but it's a last resort for me.
Hi Andrea, you may want to hit the dollar store and grab some new ones from there, it will take a lot less effort for you to create your piece.
Wondering if this is an epoxy resin situation, take a look at this link, especially steps 3 & 4:

Becky at Flipping the Flip has a good suggestion.
If acetone doesn't do it it may not be worth the effort. I agree, buy new ones.
Acetone should do it. Dollar Tree has 100% acetone nail polish remover, if you can find inventory.
stripper or acetone should work.
Hello Andrea,
The backing gives the pebbles the look! Maybe try steeping them in white spirit overnight might soften it!
Soak in boiling water and let stand overnight it should come right off.
I would soak them in a basin of hot water. If that doesn't help and the nail polish remover doesn't, you may not be able to remove all of it. Good luck and stay safe!
Considering the cost of purchasing additional materials and supplies to try to remove the silvery backing, plus your time and effort, I would say it would be easier and faster to simply purchase clear pebbles.
If you can't remove it, the dollar store usually has clear pebbles for fairly cheap.
Hello. You might wanna consider trying acetone nail polish remover. The ones labeled specifically acetone are great for removing a lot of painted substances.
Can it peel off?
