Janice: Capers are SO yum! I rarely make a salad with out them. (Rinse quickly first to get rid of the brine/salt.) You'll find them (top shelf) in the pickle aisle of your supermarket.

They are immature flower buds from the caper bush, grown in the Mediterranean.
Capers are the immature, unripened, green flower buds of the caper bush (Capparis spinosa or Capparis inermis). The plant is cultivated in Italy, Morocco, and Spain, as well as Asia and Australia. It's most often associated with Mediterranean cuisines, but enjoyed worldwide. Capers are a low-calorie, low-carb, and low-fat food. 1 They're generally not eaten in big enough quantities (due to the taste) to contribute any significant nutritional value, but they are high in vitamin K and good sources of copper, iron, and magnesium.
Hello. I have used them on rare occasion in recipes.
Heres a link that might be helpful.

Hi Janice, I have never had capers, hope this helps. What do capers taste like?
Capers have a flavor described as lemony, olivey, and salty. Much of the briny, vinegary taste comes from packaging.Jul 22, 2020
