Since we no longer have the tall tower and huge monitors, I need to revamp my desk to work more efficiently with a laptop.

It depends on what you want to revamp. A laptop will fit easily inside a rolltop desk. The areas that were once used for the tower and monitor can be used for office supplies - paper, pens, etc that you may use while working. There may also be room for a printer, along with the paper and ink cartridges. These are my ideas 'off the top of my head' since there is no picture. I hope this helps!
Hi! Baskets and bins can usually take you where you want it to be. My husband uses our old computer desk for his, and it works well. Good luck and stay safe!
Great idea !
I use a rolltop desk for my laptop. I use an add on keyboard and mouse and set the laptop on the very top for better ergonomics.
We have an older desk with a tower space. I use that compartment for my kids large school artwork that we want to keep but don't have wall-space to put on the walls. You could also add a pull-out basket that has a filing system in it.
We could give you more ideas if you have a pic?
I had a roll top desk for my computer and all I did was run the wires to outlet and set my laptop up on the desk - it is much easier than using one with towers, etc. https://www.pinterest.com/psl1710/small-roll-top-desk/
My daughter's desk is a roll top and it works great as is with the laptop tucked inside. The only adjustment we made was to add a grommet to the inside to hide the wires. https://www.exquisitelyunremarkable.com/2016/06/just-make-that-mess-go-away.html
Sounds like this is going to depend on how you plan to use it. Sit at it a few times and take note of your needs and then go from there with solutions.
add some pictures so it is easier to help
