Curb side find! What would you do?

It is a 70's mens armoire. Many furniture makers made them in the 1970's. I would repair and use. It would look beautiful with new handles and painted.
Have you checked the bottom and inside well for a manufacturer mark of some sort?
Hi France's It looks like everything from the 70's, looks nice for storage though, I would paint it a nice color and use it! I prefer chalk paint, I think it would look great in a slate blue or something!
So I looked your picture up on Google images and tons of very similar armoires come up. There were too many for me to sift through, but it you do the same you might find the exact piece or something similar that will lead you to the manufacturer. Also, check the bottom of the drawer.
It's an armoire from the 70's. A lot of companies made them. May be a tag or sticker on the back or bottom.

Hello occasionally vintage furniture of this era sometimes there is a stenciled painted identification. Look to the unfinished areas to see if theres this marking.
I'm not sure who makes it, but it's a great piece. I love it. You can always do a photo search in google and see if you can find information that way.
It appears to be a late 70's or early 80's piece to me. My sister had something very similar and it was purchased around 1978.
you may be able to find the manufacturer name on bottom of the drawers or back of the unit
Look on bottom or some other hidden spot. High quality furniture usually has a brand, but lower cost mass-produced furniture may not. I brand, date, and sign EVERY piece I make.
Your Man's Door Chest was manufactured by the Sumter Cabinet Company of Sumter, South Carolina probably in the 1970s. The piece is sturdily constructed of oak with carvings and heavily ornate hardware. I don't remember the name of the collection but it was considered "continental" in style with design motifs from european (Mediterranean) style furniture that also incorporated the heavy American oak colonial look that was popular in the 70s. Your chest should be marked with a stamped or embossed triangle shaped logo of Sumter Cabinet Company. btw...the bottom drawer would be the drawer with the carving on the front. Hope this helps.
Hello,
Could be Arts & Crafts, Spanish or Jacobian style. Might be worth investigating further!
Thank you all for the response
Hello again,
Try the Internet eBay and the like, for used carved furniture. One English manufacturer comes to mind "Old Charm" for similar pieces. Best of luck!
Based on Ebay Sumter Cabinets about $500.

I have the complete bed room suite of this. Dresser with 2 mirrors, armoire, king bed and 2 bed side chests. Bought the set in the early 70s. Think the collection was named Singer. Massive and extremely heavy.
I would not paint it, clean it up as best you can it looks in pretty good shape the wood is beautiful. Everyone wants to paint everything now a days I do not understand why when you have a georgeous piece of wood furniture that you can’t buy any more.
if you p ain’t in 10 year’s you’ll want to strip it back to the wood.
I would just clean it up like someone else said and if you can maybe restore to its original. I found a picture that looks like yours:
