How do I get sticky tape residue off of my stainless steel refrigerator?
Goo gone will work like a charm.
I had that but it can’t be used on Stainless Steel. ☹️
Yes, Goo gone works on pretty much anything, it's great stuff!
Any vegetable oil such as olive oil, safflower oil, etc. on a soft, non-abrasive cloth will remove the sticky stuff. and won't smell bad, like GooGone does. I believe WD-40 will also work.
Believe it or not I tried that too. Also tried using a hair dryer to soften it up. ☹️
Hello I use lighter fluid for tape sticker and solvent removal
Thank you so much!!
Cerama Bryte has a stainless steel cleaner and it works great.
I've removed sticky stuff with peanut butter and it works great. I just wonder if it would leave an oily residue on the stainless steel.
Apply a little oil to help get the stickiness off! Any cooking oil. works when removing sticky labels on jars.
Hi Kimberly, hope this helps, https://www.subzero-wolf.com/assistance/answers/clean-adhesive-from-stainless-steel
Lemon essential oil!!!!!
I’m gonna try it! Thanks.
Hi Kimberly: You can use WD40, it removes most stuff like this, or even a magic eraser, Goof Off or vinegar. Just be sure to let the product sit long enough to work.
We're not talking using a hundred foot pounds, just a gentle rub. If that goes against your grain (no pun intended), then substitute Barkeepers Friend or Bon Ami. Or even Vaseline.
here is some info
There is some good information here:
Have you tried WD40?
Yes I tried WD 40. Thanks for the information.

The most effective way to remove adhesive left from film, packing tape, stickers ... Do not use Goo Gone on stainless steel appliances unless you have tested it in ...
You’re right Goo Gone isn’t for Stainless Steel.
Since you tried so many things and not had any luck yet, why not call the store where you purchased the item and ask for their advice? They surely have to remove the residue/sticky stuff from some of their floor models at the store.
Good luck! I'd be very careful using the Magic Eraser as it can be slightly abrasive.
I use vegetable oil then wipe with soapy warm water. Final step is a microfiber cloth.
I keep a tiny jar of vegetable oil and baking soda, stirred into a paste under my kitchen sink. I have not found any adhesive that won't come off with a little rubbing. Wash with a degreaser after all adhesive is loosened. It is pennies compared to purchasing Goo Gone or other remover.

Googone should take that residue off, have you tried it yet?
