Rustic Wall Decor With Farmhouse Beads
Farmhouse beads are everywhere so I decided to incorporate them into a rustic wall decor piece that also uses two other very popular decor items of the moment. Wall words and a vintage window frame.
You will need a wooden word (I chose “Blessed”), a pompon garland, and a string of farmhouse beads. Click here for a full tutorial on how to make farmhouse beads.
The window frame will be the base for your wall decor, so the size you choose will be the size of the finished project.
My word already had hardware on the back, so I simply had to add two tiny nails to the front of my picture frame to hold the word in the position I wanted. Try to position your word in the bottom 1/3 of the window frame and a little off center or angled, or both. If the word is centered it will look too perfect and will lose that rustic touch we are going for.
Drape a pompon garland around the picture frame. This will need to be positioned with some of the cording in front of the frame and some behind it.
When making the bead strand I planned to use for this decor piece, I intentionally left some space between the beads. I used this space when I draped the bead strand around the picture frame. If you do not leave some extra space in the bead strand, one or more beads will end up behind the frame and it will not sit closely against the wall.
Since neither the beads nor the garland are attached to the picture frame it is easy to reposition them until you get the look you want. It would also be simple to switch things out seasonally if you desire. For the complete tutorial, please check out my blog post here.
I hope you have enjoyed this simple wall decor DIY and I hope you will let me know how it goes if you try this for yourself.
