How to store cross stitch supplies- embroidery floss ?
Looking for something to do after sewing multiple masks during have revived my former hobby of cross stitching. In preparation for the winter and another pandemic shutdown I have collected lots of floss, patterns and fabric. Now I am looking for DIY storage for the supplies. I currently have 3 of those plastic rolling chests and several plastic containers from the Dollar Tree. Looks cluttered and disorganized. Welcome any suggestions. Thank you for the help.

Hi Jaye,
Label the outside of each drawer and put said items inside. That way you should not have any problems.
I scrapbook and I label the outside of my containers using a label maker or better yet my computer to print out colors, descriptions, etc. then stack the containers in order that works for me.

Maybe one of those cubby units that you can buy at Walmart. Your supplies can go in baskets - a look you may like better.

Find a old dresser on Craigslist for free. Repaint, and use the drawers for storage! The top of the dresser can have cubbies to store other items, or hang shelves. Take the drawers, attach small wheels and slide them under a bed, desk whatever you have.

You could also visit Ikea or the Container Store to look for some storage options for smaller items... or even Dollar Tree.

Instead of purchasing a dresser originally intended for clothing, I would suggest that you choose a unit with drawers that are shallower. This permits all contents to be seen at once when the drawer is opened, and eliminates removing items to access other items stored below. These drawer storage units are available in several styles, and are commonly seen in classrooms and artists studios. Here are some examples:
If the drawers on your dresser/drawer unit that you have already are deeper than one layer of small craft items, then I would suggest that you purchase some dual-tier cutlery storage trays. These maximize the vertical space within each drawer, and make it easier to access all materials without needing to remove some first.
