Use hot gluebor silicone to make a dam around the hole. This will keep the epoxy in the area it should be in.

Hello I would consider using an epoxy repair stick that is found in the plumbing department. It could be painted to disguise the repair.
Vinyl is flexible while epoxy is not. Do you have any leftover pieces of vinyl? That would be the best solution.
