Thousands of Photos!
I obtained 25 photo albums, each containing 250 plus photos. I'm sorting by family member and giving to those who are in the photo. It's time consuming. Any suggestions on the photos I'm keeping for myself, especially older photos of great grandparents, etc.

Hi Sheila, are you looking for a way to display them or to store them?
Scrapbooks are nice and are archival safe. Some of the older photos may be nice framed and displayed in your home.
Could you scan them and import them into a digital frame?
I have been scanning and saving mine in Google Photos. Lots of storage with no charge.
Wow, that's a lot of photos! There are lots of services out there that will digitize your old photos.
I would buy photo boxes (hobby craft stores carry them) and get dividers to separate by either dates, subject, etc. I did this before I started scrapbooking so I would have everything in order. You can do them by family member, dates, etc.
you could scan them into your computer, frame some of them, scrapbook them
This might help you with what and how to do:

My dad recently passed away and I inherited a few dozen photo albums. I ended up making piles of pictures after removing them (they were stuck) from the albums.
The first pile was for the pictures that were ruined when trying to remove them.
Second pile was people I didn't know (my dad didn't write their names on the them).
First two piles were throw away.
After that I put the same people into their own pile and ended up keeping just 10 photos of each person (I only had 5 people in my family so this was easy).
I ended up with only 2 photo albums.
I did have a few 8 x 10's that got their own page.
I couldn't be sentimental and keep everything and pictures can be hard to part with but keep the best and/or what means the most to you.
Remember you don't have to do that all at once.
