How do i change things in an apartment.
I'm not allowed to paint or do renovations in my apartment but I really need a change in colors on the wall. The linoleum floor is ripping apart and mngmt. won't fix it. I want to fix it but need ideas please.

Use Command strips to hang bold prints or wall hangings.
If your deposit isn't large, you could paint it anyway. My niece decided to do that because her experience was they ding you for so many little things you rarely get your deposit back anyway.
As for the floor, you could purchase a remnant fairly inexpensively and put it down over the existing flooring. Tack shoe molding at the edges to hold it down. When it's time to move, leave it or take it up.
Giant area rug for the floor and peel and stick wallpaper that you can remove
You could try a fabric wall hanging like ones over here: https://amzn.to/39cXaCB
And use Command Poster strips to hang it up.
You could also try gluing down the linoleum yourself using something like E6000: https://amzn.to/39ev8qg
Hang large art instead. You can frame a shower curtain for cheap XL art
One technique I remember is an apartment dweller used the new peel n stick strippable wallpaper in white on her wall, painted the edge with a clear finish, and then painted the paper a deep cobalt that could be just stripped off. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=peel+n+stick+removable+wallpaper&ref=nb_sb_noss_1

I would put a rug down on the floor, you could add fun art to the walls in pops of colors, maybe add some fun curtains
Keep in mind that the type of lighting you have in any room can alter the color the walls appear. What type of lighting do you have now?
If the bulbs are LED, remember that the color can appear different depending on whether the bulbs are cool (more blue) or warm (more yellow) and what lumen rating the bulbs have.
Command Hooks are your friend. You could get a large poster art piece, or a woven wall hanging, and use those types of hangers so you don't damage the walls. Just follow the instructions, and when you need to take them down, pull the tab and the wall is undamaged.
For the floor, perhaps you could find an inexpensive straw/sisal mat or a bargain on a good-size area rug? I know I would hope to find bargains for an apartment that might be a short residency.
Hello Amy,
For Walls, Use a coloured bed sheet or fabric and use Command strips to hold it in place. Or use a very large piece of art!
For the Floors. Use Large Rugs!
Peel and stick applications will be your best friend. You can use peel and stick wallpaper, backsplashes etc to customize your new home/apt. Good luck!
I agree that a big area rug and some Command Strips (do hang art and photos on the wall) would help. You could also try removable wallpaper: https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/165366617557363325/
This is a real interesting idea! This apartment renter used cardboard panels (made out of a material painters use to protect floors) to make panels that she hung on the wall: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJKDpR6KTjc
This article suggests applying paint or wallpaper to a panel of plywood that's the size of your wall and simply rest the panel against the wall: https://dressyourhome.in/4401/cover-ugly-wall-rental
You can also use starch to temporarily apply fabric panels to your wall. Apparently these panels can easily be taken down with no mess or damage: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/165366617557363551
The panels might come down off the walls easily, but I would think that it would be a physically tiring big job to try to wash all the starch residue off the walls. I would dissuade anyone from trying this, especially if you are worried you might not get your damage deposit back when you move out of the apartment.
