Chair idea?
we recently had a new table top made with the existing base but now the table is 2”higher than the original
the chairs are really two low now and they are solid chairs
is there anyway to make these chairs taller?
i asked them person who built the table top and he made it seem like a difficult undertaking because of the slant of the legs etc
I have looked into getting new chairs but would like to salvage these
thanks

From my reading, you will need to purchase 2 items: chair leg risers and angled adjustable feet. Here are 2 examples of what to shop for

You will have to check the diameter of the bottom of the chair legs, choose the extender material/color as well as the angled adjustment feet. But, this should solve the problem!
I would make cushions that attach/tie onto the large back spindles. Make a cardboard template of the seat from the front to where the back spindles attach. Use the template to cut cushions from the most dense 2" foam you can purchase. Add some batting to the top and the material that goes with your décor. I recommend fabric that has scotch-guard added since you'll be using it for the dinning area. Hope this works for you!

I got some memory foam chair cushions at amazon. I like them not only for the added height and comfort but they have a anti slip backing on them. And these things do not move around at all. Love them.
They do make risers to put under the feet of the chairs.

We have used felt pads on the bottom of the chairs and chair pads. Together they raised ours enough.
You can buy chair leg extenders

Chair extenders or little pads on the bottom
I think felt pads on the bottom of your chairs, as well as thick cushions made for your chair, might help.
This article has some good tips - apparently, you can buy taller replacement legs for your chairs! https://homeguides.sfgate.com/increase-height-existing-chair-63479.html
The article also mentions you can add casters to the chairs - that would make them rolling chairs, but they would be higher: https://homeguides.sfgate.com/increase-height-existing-chair-63479.html
You could also purchase chair risers: https://www.wikihow.com/Increase-the-Height-of-Dining-Chairs
Maybe something like this would help.
Mini rollers, pre-drill hole in each leg.... https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ALeKk00Wp4Z_GLphWtw4salBY1QlQFdHGA:1612134845301&source=univ&tbm=isch&q=mini+chair+leg+rollers&client=opera&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj6sqKmpsfuAhUJHzQIHXBlCMAQjJkEegQIAxAB&biw=1326&bih=627 the type I used for my clients fancy $400 chairs were the caster type with the metal sleeve that I pre-drilled to the depth of the metal sleeve and tapped in with a hammer, then you insert the caster.
You can buy a cushion
Perhaps adding a bun to the bottom, like what is on many pieces of furniture. You will have to paint to match but I think that would work. If I'm not mistaken, they screw into the wood.
Hi Peggy, here are a couple of ideas, the safest one is, Seat Cushion. Replacing or adding a seat cushion may be the simplest and safest way to increase the chair's height. Or Screw-in Legs
Upholstered chairs, such as easy chairs and recliners, often have screw-in legs. You can buy replacement legs in a variety of styles and lengths to increase a chair's height. Choose a leg style that's similar to the original leg. Replacing a wide leg or bun foot with a narrow leg could result in instability and make the chair unsafe. A bun foot is a low, round chair leg. Bun feet and tapered blocks that are often used on heavy chairs also come in various heights.

I would do one of two things. The easiest would be to buy some cushions. At Home and Kirklands has some great cushions and very reasonable. I have those spindle type chairs too and it would work. Or go to HD or Lowes and purchase leg foot bottoms. They have many different sizes that screw in. You would have to stain to match your chairs.
Add some cushions to it :)
They sell chair lifts that you can use to raise the height of the chairs.
