Clawfoot tub age?
I have an old cast iron claw foot tub that I just paid to have refinished. The bottom of the tub has a US shield raised stamp with a A100 stamp above it. Above the A100 stamp, there is a half moon shape row of numbers that read 340...27...15...340. Can anyone guess its age? I think its a 5.5' rolled top clawfoot.

Hello Tracy. I would contact your local salvage yard for some advice. Or maybe Habitat for Humanity could help too. By the way, Tracy, your tub is gorgeous.
I couldn't find anything about your particular stamp, but a reputable antique dealer could tell you more about your tub.
Hello. Congratulations on your beautiful restoration. Here’s a link that could be helpful.

Thanks everyone for sending those articles. I already read them and could not come up with an answer which is why I reached on on this post. If anyone has more information, please share and thanks again for your nice comments. I almost threw the tub away not having any knowledge of what a cast iron tub is or it’s worth. It came with my house when I purchased it.
Hello there,
this could be 1940's. Looks like the ones made in Scotland UK.
Unfortunately it might be tricky to get exact information on the tub without finding a manufacturer name as these were generally speaking mass produced. If there’s no name, it might be generic. You could try reaching out to manufacturers and ask if anything you do see on the tub is familiar to them. They may have more leads.
If you didn't get an answer, they're not worth a lot unless they're 6' long, which is rare.
Here, one can buy one from a salvage place for $60.
Hi Tracy, I recently bought a home that was built in 1892 and has been empty for over 40 years.. When I purchased it the bathroom was still all original with the cast iron sink and tub still in it..the house is like entering into the past... I am also trying to find out more information about my tub that has the same US sheild stamp on it as yours with no luck I will continue to search and learn more about them and hopefully be able to find answers for both of us....
i also have claw foot tub, its stamped 6 foot then us seal, then under that the #22, and then attached w/ metal plates the date of june 9, 1931. rolled top edges and drain hole at one end, inside of tub has no blemishes or scarred imperfections. doesnt fit in my home and although i hate to part w/it i'd rather sell then let it be lost part of the past.
Gorgeous tub! I would take a picture of the markings and try to do a Google Image Search. You never know what information might show up. I've found lot of background info on thrift finds and antiques from simple markings. Good luck!
