The aged pottery look is something that I’ve been in love with for quite some time. I had a white pitcher/vase that I have loved the shape of but never loved the color, so I tried my hand at aging it.

All I used for this project was some chalked paint I had on hand and some dirt from my yard.

I started by brushing on my chalk paint (rustoleum in linen white) and brushed it on on every direction. I wanted a lot of texture.

It took about 3 coats to fully cover the surface of my pitcher.

Once the paint dried I grabbed some dirt from my yard, mixed it with water for a thick mud consistency and brushed it on using a foam brush.

I really wanted it aged so I did my dirt a bit thicker, but you could easily adapt to whatever your style is. And that’s it! The project is done, and it only took two components. Happy crafting!

(as a side note to this project, a family member knocked this off the counter in the kitchen and it shattered into a billion pieces so I wasn’t able to get a really pretty after photo.. so sorry!)

Looks great... shame that it got broken... Was the paint still wet when you applied the dirt?

For those that do not like the idea of using dirt....used coffee grounds will work just as well.

So sorry it was broken, it was really lovely.
