I’m looking for cheap and easy back splash ideas?
I need a cheap and easy back splash for behind my stove something with a little flair to it I hope . Really I just need something to help deal with grease when it splatters the paint used isn’t what you would expect to be used in a kitchen it’s a flat instead of a gloss so grease is absorbed into it at least that’s how it seems .
Im a novice so please be gentle and thank you!

Here are some tin backsplashes at Amazon, durable and not very expensive:

We put a piece of stainless steel behind ours. It wasn't "cheap" but it adds light and is so easy to clean. You could try a high gloss enamel paint for a similar effect. You will need to prime first over the existing paint issues, then paint over it in a large square or rectangle for the area.
You could repaint in with a satin finish paint and stencil it with the same sheen paint in a different color.
There are peel and stick decorative tiles you could try. Your local home improvement store will have them.
Hi! I installed tile for the first time when I did my stove backsplash. It was inexpensive, easy to do and not hard on my budget. I used simple white tiles with an inset of design tiles centered behind the stove. They were the least expensive tiles they had, long before white tiles showed up in all the kitchens on HGTV. The insert was one of their least expensive "nice" fancy tiles. That was over 20 years ago and it still looks nice. There are tons of videos to watch now, on the process! It's a good investment!
I have the same paint behind stove that is in the rest of my kitchen. Behr. It isn't flat but has no sheen. No problems wiping off grease.

Hello. Black splash ideas are always so creative. Just using a high gloss paint might help your walls be more washable. Additionally here’s a link that could be helpful

Wayfair and Overstock have peel and stick backsplash items. I am going to use them to change my back splash. Check out Hulu, and they have a good video on how to install it..
A piece of pre-cut single pane glass, and a set of 4 mirror mounting clips.
You can glue or tape a pattern or image on the back side of the glass with a spray adhesive,
Or put it on the wall, before hanging the glass.
You might need mollies for the screws.
I would think plastic contact paper would absorb the grease splatters, as they both are oil-based.
I did mine in bead board. You can paint any color you want. It is less than $20 a sheet that is 4' x 8'. Trim out the sides if you are only putting behind the stove and not the whole backsplash. Use a washable paint. Mine is white and 5 years old with not problems washing.
