Hi Balta I would contact a local nursery near you. I find mine to be invaluable for finding those specific plants that work best in our soil type etc. because even if you purchase plants in your specific zone that doesn't always mean they'll do really well in your specific area.
Hi Balta, here is a list of some vines that you can plant for this

I would go to a local nursery and ask them which would fill in thick enough and also what type of trellis you'll need, unless you have something else you want it to grow against.
Hello. For the best local professional advice
I would highly suggest contacting your cooperative extension. These offices are manned by volunteer master gardeners on site there waiting to answer the communities questions that know your local situation quite well.
Master gardeners are required to volunteer back designated hours ( plus continuing education) each year to maintain MG certification -this community outreach and education is their goal.
If your office is closed....there might be alternative online venues like Ask an Expert as well as emailing your local master gardeners extension office for their
guidance.... in a non contact manner.
Most plants success depend on their hardness to geographic planting zones presenting weather conditions. Your local experts should have the ideal suggestions for your need.
what about climbing Roses?
Bougainvillea comes to mind for the desert. Here's a link with some other options:
