How to change fitted sheet?
How to change the fitted sheets on a bed that's in a REAL tight corner ? I'm 70 years old with RA so I'm trying to this on my own. It's easy to get the sheets off, but a different story trying to get them back on, LOL. Anyone have any suggestions? I would appreciate any ideas.......Thank you !

I have a young lady come in, make my bed with 4 bottom sheets (I don't use a top sheet, just the duvet). When the sheet on top is ready for the washer, I just whip it off! By the time I'm down to the last sheet, it's time to have my young friend come and repeat.
Thanks for the idea Arlene.
Here's what 1 lady did:
I put a cotton fitted sheet under the mattress. When I make the bed, I tuck the fitted sheet and the bottom of the flat sheet so that the lower fitted sheet holds everything in place. It makes re-making the bed daily quick work.

Another thought is to use a flat sheet on the bottom, eliminating a fitted sheet entirely.
Can you move the mattress out from the wall while putting the fitted sheet on? I know the bigger the bed, the harder it is to move the mattress. Or, if you have any kids/grandkids that come over throughout the week, see if one of them can do it for you.

Could using a baggy looser deep pocked sheet be a possibility? Or a stretchy jersey sheet? I have multiple arthritic and other medical hand issues as well and completely understand your frustrating situation.
Buy a larger fitted sheet and then used bed sheet holder straps to hold it in place.
You might try buying some of the elastic bands to secure them, then use those rather than trying to wrangle the regular fitted sheet.
Making sure they are bigger than you need will help. For example, if you have a 12" mattress get a sheet that is for 15".
There is also this thing that I have thought about buying to secure mine because my husband is horrible about pulling the fitted sheet off the mattress:

Madeline would it be easier to use a flat sheet instead of a fitted sheet on the bed? My mom is 86 and that is what she does
I would just tuck in the flat sheet. Of course that means you need to put something on top of it. Use a quilt or a different color flat sheet
I agree with the flat sheet crowd. Go a size up if you can to give yourself some added material to work with. Good Luck!
Start at the hardest corner, then go to the next hardest corner.....
