It will depend if it has been sealed or not and if so, with what. In general, I would clean it first then use CitriStrip to remove the paint. If it has been waxed, you will probably have to use mineral spirits to remove.

Agreed on the suggestion of CitriStrip - or any other paint remover will work.
Here's a way to do this if the piece of furniture is coated with wax:

For a sealer, use a stripper like Citristrip, it is non-toxic.
Citristrip should work.
What is the reason for removing it? If you want the original wood back, then you'll have to do some major sanding. Otherwise, I recommend just painting over it.
I suggest softening it with denatured alcohol. Try to do this outdoors. Good ventilation is mandatory~! Good luck.
Vinegar – heat it, apply it, let is sit for some time, and rub the paint off with a cloth.
Washing soda – yes, it can sometimes wash off the chalk paint.
Soap – soapy water can help rubbing the paint off.
Acetone – buy the stuff as an alternative to a remover. These two options work too:
Denatured alcohol
Mineral spirits
