Even though we have an auger, most commonly we find that our drains need to be physically fished out. Either using an unbent hanger as a refashioned hook or plastic barbed tool from the dollar store to explore the drain obstruction.
Fishing out the blockage with that in -our experience— to partially involve hair seems to most readily alleviate odors and stoppage in our faucets and shower drains.

Step 1
Pour ½ cup baking soda into the drain opening.
Step 2
Pour ½ cup white vinegar into the drain. The vinegar disinfects and foams when mixed with the baking soda to work through the pipes and clean the walls. Let the foam work for about 30 minutes.
Step 3
Pour 1 gallon boiling water down the drain to flush out leftover residue.
Step 4
Repeat every one to two weeks to prevent odor from returning.
You could use Mogie's recipe and add 1/4 salt for more scrubbing action.

Pour down baking soda and vinegar, followed by a pan of boiling water. You want to kill whateverr mold/bacteria is growing in there that is causing the smell.
Pout baking soda and vinegar in it then cover for 30 minutes. Then pour boiling water. You might want to use sani sticks monthly in the future to prevent it. We don’t spit out toothpaste down the sink for this reason.
Pour down your drain 1/4 cup baking soda ,1/4 cup white vinager and 1/4 cup of lemon juice it will bubble up when finished bubbling wash down with hot water
I would thoroughly clean out the trap, likely its just a build up of gunk over time and, hopefully, not a more serious problem with your vent. After that I find pouring vinegar down my kitchen sink every few months really helps. I let it sit for up to 20 minutes than flush with HOT water.

Hi! There's a simple plastic tool called a hair grabber that helps you pull out buildup from your drain.
Add some bleach. If that doesnt work the trap may need to be removed and cleaned...
After getting out any hair down there with one of those long plastic hair grabbers, sprinkle in some baking soda then pour down some vinegar.
