I use young livings thieves cleaner on my toilets
Hello. My solution was the pumice stick. This is excellent way to remove those hard water mineral stains and rings in the toilet. When commercial toilet cleaners fail -this is my go to. Great for thick crusted calcium mineral build up that the toilet waterbowl collcts.
They are found at my local Walmart for less than two dollars -good for multiple uses. Be sure to follow the use instructions, soaking the pumice stone in water for a few minutes. While the stone is soaking, grab your toilet brush and splash water up around the ring. Note: It’s very important to keep both the stone and the surface wet while cleaning to avoid scratching your porcelain.
Sounds like you have hard water with minerals in it. This might be what you need, it requires elbow grease, you might be able to find an equivalent version at a dollar store::

Another thought would be Bar Keeper's friend, comes in liquid and powder forms.
Ok so normally I won't use anything unless its all natural and I basically make it at home. HOWEVER, when it comes to the hard water build up in our toilets I just flew my white flag. The Works Toilet Bowl Cleaner is the only thing that works for us. Its some really gnarly stuff.
Got to agree with The Works. I have been using it for years. Also flush the toilet add about 1/3 bottle let sit for a few hours and flush. Cleans the tank SO well. The best part is it is only $1.00 at the dollar stores.
A descaler is the best way to handle this. It will come back because of the water content where you live. Empty the bowl and then scrub. Leave the cleaner on the bowl for at least 10 minutes. Then you can flush. Make sure to flush the toilet regularly to help deter build up.

CLR anda magic eraser does the trick. Let the Drain the bowl and put paper towels in it. Spray with CLR and let stand about 30 minutes. Remove paper towels, so NOT flush, and then take a magic eraser and scrub. Remember to do under the rim. I use a finishing nail in the holes of the rim to get rid of deposits. It takes effort but works.
Wow, thank you all for the great ideas and for taking the time to respond. I will definitely try some of these and hope to have a sparkling toilet soon!
First, flush the toilet and then pour a quarter of a cup of Borax into it, using your toilet brush to swish it around. Next, add one to two cups of vinegar and let the mixture sit for 20-30 minutes. You should be able to scrub the stains away and flush the toilet to reveal a fresh, and clean bowl.
CLR, full strength..
