How do I make glass anti-reflective?
How do I make glass anti-reflective? Just bought an electric fireplace and the glass reflects so much the fire is actually hard to see. Does anyone know how to make glass non-reflective?

You can add a film but I'm thinking not good for a fireplace. Krylon makes some matte finish sprays that might work. Since it's electric, you might not have to worry about high heat.
Hi Sandy as long as heat isn't an issue they do sell sprays and films you can cover glass with. HOWEVER, if you have a high heat situation there isn't much you can do to change it besides replacing the entire piece of glass though I don't know if they sell high heat glass that isn't reflective. We have a pellet stove that is very reflective as well.
Hello. That’s a great question. Films or aerosol spray’s to change the appearance of your glass would not be recommended in the heat situation. I might suggest calling your manufacturer or a the shop or vendor that sells fireplace inserts and logs and asking their opinion.
You might check with a fireplace retailer and see what suggestions they have for this. Since it's a high heat situation, things like sprays or window films likely won't work.
This article suggests having non-glare glass installed. See here.

Since you just purchased this call the place you bought it and explain this to them. Bet you aren't the first customer with this question.

Yes, contact the manufacturer, have the make and model numbers ready, they want you to be a satisfied customer.
You might want to include your observation and solution in a review of the product.
Nothing you can put on the glass to make it less reflective. Obviously there is so much light in the room that the glass magnifies it and reflects it. Reducing the light from windows with curtains, moving any table or floor lamps further away. Lower wattage bulbs in light fixtures. Ambient light coming from other rooms. You can try a mesh fireplace screen in front of the firebox.
Yes, totally agree with the suggestions above. It is best to contact the manufacturer or where you have bought this. And here's a few information which may help you https://www.framedestination.com/blog/resources/how-to-get-rid-of-reflections-on-picture-frames
