Desert rose?
2 weeks ago I purchased a desert rose with several buds on it. Excited I purchased it waited for bloom to get bigger and open. To my disappointment these buds turned into tiny straw like buds. My guess is these are now seeds. Blooms never appeared it sits in very bright indirect light in my home. What went wrong? I’ve kept the buds to of course plant and grow my own desert rose plant

A desert rose requires full sunlight - at least 6 hours a day and warm temperatures - in the 70s.

This might help you, they are considered succulents and don't require much water:
Growth & Flowering:Adeniums are naturally slow growing mostly due to their need for minimal water. This makes for their interesting and unusual growth forms. Water them according to the growth rate and shape you desire. Flowering generally begins late winter or early spring, often before the plant leafs out. It may stop during the hottest part of the summer (mid-May thru June), and then continue to bloom again into the fall.

This is a really interesting article on their care and propagation:

I think you will have to nurture it and let it mature a bit before it will have better blooms. hang in there!
You guys are all wonderful with great info for me. Patience is really needed for these plants, but even without flowers they are so interesting to look at. No trunk is alike. From knarly to plain. Thx to all.
Be patient! Could be it had already been at it's best before you purchased it, or it could have sulked at being moved etc. Give it another year - it'll be worth waiting for.
They don’t like very much water I have one that is about 10 inches and I water 1 every 10 days
Yes I’m aware of that but thx for taking time for the warning. I have 2that are about 14”and one that is10”. I put them in terracotta planters so they can breath better as plastic doesn’t let water escape so well. Still getting buds then they dry up and I’m saving them. Don’t know if they are seeds or not. Their size makes me think they are 2-3 years old. I know they grow slowly and are greenhouse grown . Thx again for sharing
