My great grandmother would sew greeting cards or used cereal boxes together with yarn and make various sized boxes. I had one made out of cereal boxes that I used to hold all of my hair items such as brushes, hair dryer, curling iron, hairspray etc. I had it for over 15 years!
Why don't you frame them with other momentous and make memory boxes for the wall.
Or you could use them on a table then cover the table with glass.
Sorry ment to say momentos.
If you have a paper punch, put a hole in the top of the cards, put them on a large key ring and hang it somewhere to display. When ya want to glance through them, or maybe someone else would be interested.......Voila. All 40 yrs. is a lot of cards. Put your favorites....;)) You could probably get the rings from somewhere, where they have paint samples on a ring or floor tiles.
I filled a scrapbook with cards we'd given each other over the first couple of years, added a small pic of us in one corner of each page. I wrote the date, occasion if any on each page as well. Makes a very unique coffee table book. Of course, you don't actually want to do that with all your cards (if I'd done all of them, I'd have a dozen books, lol), maybe pick just anniversary cards or another theme for the book, but it makes for the nicest snuggling and reminiscing when we go through it, keeping those romantic feelings alive for decades now...
Decoupage the cards and use them as back drops for family pictures. Or you can copy the cards onto fabric and then use fabric from your Husband shirt fabric from an old dress of yours children's clothing anything that has a special meaning. Piece it all together to make a beautiful quilt. BIU😊
