Easy
Do you know how many awful chemicals are in commercial, store bought dryer sheets?!? Way too many. It's SO easy to make your own, and they work great! You can even customize your own scent!
Here's what you'll need:
- Fabric scraps / old dishtowels / old sheets / old t-shirts (basically any cotton fabric)
Cut squares out of fabric. Use a pinking shears if you don't plan to sew edge.
Mix vinegar and oil ...
Add your fabric squares
Allow to squares to soak up the liquid. When ready to use, ring out the excess liquid and throw into dryer with clothes!

I get Apple scent hair conditioner at Dollar Tree, mix with half water & pour half a cup in washer to soften water & smells good. Then I use an old washcloth dampened with this mix to toss in dryer. Works for me.

I pour white vinegar in dispenser on washer to soften & disinfect laundry.

I have done this for a while now and it works great. I just fill the dispenser. No soap or softener buildup in my towels, either!

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Does this help with static?
What are the measurements of vinegar, oil, and essential oil? What type of oil? Will it leave oily spot on my clothes?
What does the vinegar do? You say mix oil and vinegar? Is that essential oil and vinegar? Why not just dabs of essential oil?
Much better than stuff you buy!
