Room Reveal- Boho Vintage Living Room

My living room had beige walls and moving boxes for more than 2 years. There was always something else that had to be worked on but the time finally came to design this space and it definitely embodies what I love. White walls, lots of wood tones and vintage, vintage, vintage.
I'm a natural collector and so many of these pieces have been collected over time in hopes that they'd be part of a collected space. Shades of blue and pink contrast with one another and the various wood tones work as a natural backdrop.
I like to repurpose pieces to work for my life. I'm an avid gardener (even though I'm terrible at it) and need lots of places for my plants. A vintage Hollywood regency-esque bar cart wouldn't function well for me with my curious 3 year old. But it makes a great spot to collect lots of plants and makes watering easier.
Another thing I had to consider when designing this space is that my little boy plays in here with us. He has lots of favorite toys, so I chose pretty baskets to keep out in the open to store those toys. We have additional storage in the credenza turned media cabinet and large end table with cabinet doors, too.

That's how my first apartment looked in the 70's! The rocking chair was the first piece of furniture I ever purchased and I had more than 20 years! Strange for some reason I was thinking about that chair today then I see your post! Love it!

Have a question about this project?
Did you overdye the rug yourself? I have one I’d love to do but I read mixed reviews on the methods. Any recommendations?
