Is the bathtub porcelain, fiberglass or plastic?
Use the same glue you use to glue the tile to the floor or backsplash. You will need to clean the side of the tub wel & it doesn’t hurt the ruff it up with a fine sandpaper. Make sure you clean all the dust off. You will have to grout after & seal it so close to water.
There is a glue available at Home Depot and Lowe's for gluing ceramic over ceramic or porcelain. Just ask them in the tile department. There are a few different brands, I just don't remember the names. I had good results with these in the past.
I don't know about over the edge but you can apply ceramic tiles to the sides of your bathtub. Depending on what your present tub is made out of ( ceramic? porcelain? fiberglass?, etc.? ) will determine what type of adhesive to use. You can simply ask the fella at Home Depot ( or wherever you purchase the new tiles at ) for their recommendation. Good Luck :)
