How to Install a Glass Shower Door (Start to Finish)

This tutorial shares step-by-step how to install a semi-frameless glass shower door.

The first step is ordering a shower door that fits your rough opening. We purchased this door online and had it shipped for about $600.

Since our tiled shower curb was 6" we centered the jambs at the 3" mark. Then cut holes in the ceramic tile using a diamond hole saw and drill.

It's imperative to fill these holes with silicone. Also, it's better to have solid blocking behind the backer board than just open space.

All metal pieces were cut on a miter saw with Diablo metal cutting blade.

Mark jamb location on tile walls and ensure it's plumb.

Cut holes in tile with diamond hole saw. Our video shows how to do this without breaking tiles.

Apply silicone inside holes.

Level the header for the shower doors.

Here's the after, not too shabby.
