Art Deco Dresser Make Over Upcycling Furniture
I always look for unique looking furniture (mostly mid century modern furniture) when I hunt for new pieces! I knew I liked the "bones" of this dresser but I was a bit hesitant at first. Then decided to just go for it and I didn't regret it! Check out the transformation ! And see my other pieces on Instagram @andreapalmai
Here is how it looked before! Cool lines but boring!
Once I decided on the color and design, I started filling the missing veneers with wood filler. Gave it a light sanding with 100 grit sandpaper then it was time to paint!
For this I used gold spray paint.
Then painted the remaining parts black with a foam roller!
This already looked cool but I had bigger plans for this bad boy!
I used some skinny painter's tape to create my design. I did not measure anything because who has time for that? But if you don't feel confident use a measuring tape. Its easier than fixing it later.
I just googled "art deco design" and searched for pictures that i liked, would work best with the dresser and were not too complicated. After removing the tape, I fixed my lines and made sure they were sharp!
This is the finished product! It was totally worth it! It's classy and gives me some serious Great Gatsby vibes!

Now it's heirloom quality! Like your sign on it, too. Laughed out loud at it.

I love art deco anything. This makeover is so beautiful it hurts!

Have a question about this project?
Did you have to paint the gold lines freehand on the front where the big black stencil is? I don’t know how you did that.
