DIY Dress-Up Station Using Old Nightstand

We had princess clothes ALL OVER THE HOUSE. Even though I had a box (or two!) to store them in, they seemed to end up all over the floor and were hard to keep in one place! I decided to make a dress-up station for my daughter.
We had just watched Sleeping Beauty, and I was inspired by the colors in the movie. The first thing I did was scour Craigslist for an old nightstand I could use.

I found this gem for $15. Honestly...it couldn't have been more perfect!
I sanded the dresser over a few rough spots, removed the drawer pulls, and painted.

I used Glidden paints in Very Berry and Cotton Candy. I also used Rustoleum Metallic Gold spray paint
I used pretty drawer knobs to hang purses and hair accessories. On the other side, I fashioned a "wand holder" out of a drawer pull.

Using cardboard and scrapbook paper, I made compartents for her shoes.

This has ended up being one of our favorite pieces of furniture in the house. At a recent birthday party, we brought it out and decorated it and let the girls play dress up. It was a huge hit, and I still get happy every time I see it - it's just so cute!
