Pair of Half Moon Nightstands Got Second Chance

Jarful House
by Jarful House
I was looking for a pair of nightstands, with at least 2 drawers for an extra storage, and I found these... painted in black and gold.. super ugly(sorry for using "U" word, I meant super sad).. but I knew they have potential.. I could make them pretty again, they just need little paint & fresh idea..
.
I started from the paper... I found on etsy this great craft paper in sheets 13x18 what I decided to use on the outside of the drawers. Simply I decoupaged on these 3 drawers ( i was lucky, I just needed one sheet per nightstand)
Paint: I mixed three colors of Old Town Chalk Finish Paint to match the colors of the paper.. Drawers were painted in mix of WASABI & French Blue what give that greenish color.
The rest is painted in French Blue ( Old Town Chalk Finish Paint), then around the edges I painted with light blue ( mix of French Blue and Pure white). Then I waxed with Annie SLoan Clear Wax and painted again with French blue.
For the top I used my fav. french stencil, painted with the same matching light blue.

After that I distressed whole piece, mainly on the edges, to bring this light blue I painted between the coats.
I give an hour to paint and wax set between the coats and waxed whole piece one more time.
Legs painted ombre :)
In december while I was posting progress of this project on my facebook page, I was contacted by a woman who asked when I will finish them because she would love to buy both for her daughter:)
They got their second chance

I love the new look of these with an exception of the lighter bottom on the legs. To me it looks like they had been standing in water. My personal preference would have been not to make the leg bottoms lighter. I think you did a very creative job on these and the transformation is wonderful! Did you in fact selll them?

You thought the tables were ugly ?

They turned out great. Did you keep them or sell them? I would become attached to the pieces I work on and not give them up.

The tables are beautiful. I noticed you had to match up the paper when doing the drawers. Not sure I would have caught that the way I do things! Seems like they would be perfect for a feminine room.
