We have a cabinet over the top of our fridge and it is empty. Very awkward place to store anything but if you need storage badly it is better then nothing. Good place to put things that are hardly ever used. But it is not handy.
I put Christmas glasses there.
Hi Donna, It isn't clear what exactly you are asking bout the cabinet above the fridge. Are you wanting to install one?
Go for it. It beats stuff sitting on top of the fridge.
As you know, standard upper cabinets are 12” deep and most refrigerators are even deeper than standard base cabinets at 24” deep. Hanging a 12” deep cabinet requires screwing it into the studs through the back framing pieces.
Are you asking how to hang a 24” deep cabinet? You can’t just screw it into the the studs, no matter what. If this is your question then LMK and I will explain the options.
At my place, it’s a waste of space...difficult to get into, it stores seldom used items.
Mine is a pain to get to and I use for emergency supplies. I live in earthquake country and use child locks on them so the stuff doesn't come tumbling out.
