How can I make a very inexpensive dresser for the guest bedroom?

A dresser or clothing storage unit needs to be wider than it is tall and attractive enough for me to like it. Keeping cats off guests clothing is the goal.

Hi there, I would check out my local thrift store or salvage depot, usually inexpensive dressers are easy to find. Or you can check out these plans from Ana White http://www.ana-white.com/category/plans/project-type/dresserHelpful Reply -

Have you thought of refurbishing a second hand piece? By the time you purchase suitable wood and hardware, you will have more invested than picking up a piece from a thrift shop and then refinishing to go with your decor. i also would suggest salvation army or a thrift store and buy maybe 2 , one larger and one smaller to stack and make them appear to be like a chest on chest, original antique chest on chests are very hard to find very expensive and sought after. you could do some antique painting and make it look like one piece. hope this helps and maybe gives you some thoughts.Helpful Reply -
