How can I make a pantry/desk combo?

I have a wall in the kitchen, and would like to build a pantry and desk for work and storage.

If you had a farm style open pantry, you could put up floating shelves on that wall and use the bottom one for your desk. You might want some wooden or faux wood cabinets with drawers (similar to short filing cabinets) under the bottom shelf that would be your writing area. Just a thought.
You can use a old armoire that has a built int desk, check your local antique shop or thrift store. There are plenty of old furniture pieces.
A friend actually has a set-up like this in her kitchen. Above and alongside are regular kitchen cabinets; below is a shelf with a lift-up door for desk supplies, and then below that, a desk with chair. Her cabinets are by a cabinet company (Wood Mode, now out of business). But if you want something that's not ready-made, perhaps a local carpenter could do what you want, or you could find a sale or discount outlet for the cabinets, and have a desk built.
Like the top picture. A pantry but the black counter would be used as a desk. It has room for a computer and other needed items.
