Use vinegar, make sure you use enough to soak in as far as the urine did, may take a couple of tries to get rid of the odor. I would make or purchase a cover for the futon mattress that can be taken off and laundered in the future. -

Throw it out, you'll be smelling it no matter what you use. -

There is a product for animals called Icky Poo works like a charm anywhere I have used it. -

It needs to go and buy another, get a impermeable cover for the new one. -

it's not worth trying to save, especially if you have pets. they will just remark it. buy a new one & get a waterproof cover for it.
