We have used an electric shaver to remove most of them in the past. I do not recommend a cheap razor, but a good one with floating round blades that won't harm your garment. Hope this helps Jodie!
I use a 1 or 2 blade disposable razor like yellow bic and just shave them off. Doesn’t hurt the fabric, works on sweaters, economical
