Hi Bobbie,
You are probably using a dishwasher for your dishes and glasses. This link might provide you with some answers and what you can do about your glasses:

If they have hard-water stains vinegar will do it. If they have been etched, there isn't anything you can do about that.
If your glasses are etched from being in a dishwasher there is nothing you can do to remove the cloudy film. You can try soaking them in vinegar in the sink to see if this will take off any of the dull looking film and that may or may not work.

Soak in vinegar water (50/50) and that should remove any cloudiness. However, they may be etched. If so, nothing can fix that.
To prevent cloudiness, add a drop of blue Dawn to your dishwasher before you run a cycle.
Bobbie: I used Lime Away. However, I found that using a QUALITY dishwashing product like Cascade 12x took care of the problem like a miracle. WAY worth the extra money -- rather than buying the store brand.

Hi Bobbie: You can remove the buildup caused by calcium and magnesium ions in hard water by swabbing the glass with acetone (nail polish remover), and then scrub gently with a mild detergent. Soaking the glasses in plain white distilled vinegar for 15 minutes is another effective home remedy.
