How to UNglue ?

I have two ceramic items that need to be unglued. One is a ceramic nite lite that was glued with Elmer’s Glue-All to its plastic switch. I glued it a week ago and then the switch broke. Secondly, I have a ceramic cookie jar whose ceramic lid broke into two large pieces that was glued badly with Duco cement years ago. Ideas are most welcome. Thanks!

    1. Buy a new ceramic nightlight. 2. Use an egg sander to gently remove the cement glue that is above the design of the cookie jar lid, inside and out. Do not try to take the pieces apart. Touch up the newly exposed part with craft enamel paints, like for model cars. Clean any nooks and crannies in the lid. When everything is dry, coat the lid with polyurethane until it closely matches the rest of the cookie jar. Enjoy☺️

Every glue has a solvent. Check on the label and also you can Google it.

Elmers comes loose with water, just be careful with any electrical parts. As far as the Duco cement, here's a page that might help...

My answer keeps disappearing! An egg sander is either a battery-operated egg-shaped sander for calluses on your feet, or a small block of wood with fine sand paper attached, used for smoothing eggs before they go into an egg carton. Either kind is great for crafters, sanding into corners, curves and crevices! ☺️
