If they are just dirty, I would dust them first and then follow manufacturers directions. If something has gotten on them, it would depend on what it is. Is it a spatter? Sticky?

I take mine down and dust then spray with vinegar/dawn/water. That removes any stains that I have come accross.

If you use a microfiber cloth and rub fairly hard it should remove the tobacco residue. May take a few tries. You can also try rubbing alcohol.

Hello Karla! There are brackets that hold the mini blinds in place. Usually there is a little section on each side that you can open or remove to take the blinds out to clean. Here's some info that may help you.

Once you get the blinds out you can lay them flat on a table or floor and clean each slat front and back. I would use a damp cloth--dish soap liquid and warm water-to clean each slat. Make sure your cloth is just damp not dripping wet and you frequently dip it and out of your cleaning water and squeeze dry so you are not just wiping dirt around. Once they are clean and dry then you can see how they look and go from there.

If they are discolored and stained, you may be better off to buy new ones. Are they metal, vinyl or wood? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DG2NHypuqKI
