Hello Nelly! If you go to Pinterest there are MANY patterns to make medical face masks.
Keep in mind that these face masks WILL NOT protect you from COVID 19. They can only be worn as a reminder to yourself not to touch your face with your hands. The droplets of COVID 19 are extremely tiny and will go through any material you choose to use. Many people are making these for medical staff who are facing a shortage of the N95 medical masks so these homemade ones can be worn OVER the N95 mask so that possibly the N95 masks can be used a bit longer and will alleviate the shortage.
Here's a link with a pattern and instructions:

Hi Nelly. I just watched a tutorial on how to make face masks. It is on You Tube. There are a few there with step-by-step instructions. Even for a beginner like me.
I've seen several tutorials including one where you use the cups of a bra. My doubts about them working without a filter were confirmed by the head of the Department of Health in Pennsylvania in her daily briefing. She stated that without the filtration ability of the N95 mask, it is highly doubtful that they would offer protection. There are filters that can be put in masks, but, they are as hard to find as masks. CDC guidelines are currently for most people to not wear a mask. My husband has to wear a mask for dialysis when he goes three days a week, as does everyone else at the center. Google your department of health website or go to the CDC website for accurate information. Stay well.
Here is a good tutorial https://youtu.be/ig089MQBKL4

As others have said, you can make these, but they won't give you as much protection as a real, medical face mask. You could make ones that have a space to insert a filter, and those are better to use.

Hi Nellie: I just finished making about 25 of these. This is the best and easiest video I have seen:

These are good, too:

You use the thin elastic, but if you can't find that, you can use the round head bands that you can buy at the Dollar Tree. There are 10 in a pack and each band is 14 inches long, so you can cut one in half to use one for each mask :)
Good luck.
You can repurpose old clothes. I've even seen brassieres used as masks. However, these give a false sense of security when it comes to the coronavirus. N95 still is best but it can hurt to wear it the whole day.
Hi Nellie, I've been researching face masks for a few weeks to try and make for our poorer communities. This was the best one I could find so far - https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/12/6/05-1468-f1 . It's not the prettiest but it has been tested.
