Are you in the mood for some easy DIY Valentines Decor? I am in full-on, all things Valentine this week, and, it started with my take on a DIY Valentine Decor Love Sign that I already had all the items I needed to make it! It turned out amazing!

Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day? I have a friend who keeps a tree up all year and decorates for every holiday, while I really enjoy her tree, I don’t know if I have that kind of commitment! Decorating with beautiful and easy DIY Valentine’s decor like this though is right up my alley!

Valentine’s Decor is always so sweet to my eye, because of the soft colors and it’s the only time of year that it is “legal” to put red and pink together. Not because they don’t look great together, but because it just isn’t fitting any other time. Of course, this is my humble opinion! LOL

What you need to make a diy valentine decor sign

  • Wooden hearts
  • Cabinet Door or Rectangle wood piece to fit 4 hearts
  • I get all of my cabinet doors for crafting and paint finish samples at the Habitat for Humanity Restore.
  • Wooden letters L O V E or XOXO
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Deco Art Extreme Sheen Metalic paint in Garnet, Pink toumaline, Rose Quartz, Gold
  • Deco Art White Acrylic paint
  • You might need popsicle sticks if you use a cabinet door!

How I did it

Paint your cabinet door (or rectangle wood) with two coats of Deco art white acrylic paint.

First coat. Don’t forget the sides.

Glue three popsicle sticks together twice for two “risers” for the hearts to sit on so that they would be flush with the cabinet door frame

Paint each heart with a bright metallic color. All Deco Art Extreme Sheen metallic paint. One garnet, pink tourmaline, rose quartz, and gold.

I love the Deco art Extreme Sheen Pink colors!

Next, paint the letters L,O,V,E with the same white Deco Art acrylic paint

You could also go with XOXO!

Glue the popsicle sticks to the center of my cabinet door and paint them white as well.

Glue the painted hearts in place measuring to make sure they are centered.

Glue the letters on each heart

Hang and enjoy!

Very cute! And a good idea for a child or family name, initials or other meaningful word. Thanks for sharing.
