A dollar store bunting and a glass jar are just about all you need to create a beautiful red, white and blue glittered jar light for the summer.

I began by cutting the seamed edge off the bunting.

I measured the height of the jar I was going to use.

Then wrapped a piece of string around the jar to get the approximate length of the bunting I needed to cut.

I coated the jar with Mod Podge then placed the cut bunting onto the jar, pressing it down and smoothing bubbles as I went.

I gave the outside of the jar another coat of Mod Podge on top of the bunting then sprinkled a very fine glitter over the jar.

When the Mod Podge dried I tied a raffia bow around the top of the jar.

I dropped in a battery powered tea light candle and it lit up the room with a glittery glow.

I used the extra bunting on another smaller jar and I had a matching set.
