Stamping An Easter Card With a Window

Stamping cards is a fun do-it-yourself project that is easy and fast. With just a few supplies, you can always be ready to make a holiday card with a personal touch that cannot be store bought. This card is perfect for an Easter greeting, with a stamp of cute rabbits, but any large picture stamp you have will do. Begin with pulling out a large punch, and a big stamp that you can color. The idea is to see just a bit of the image from the front, with a larger picture coming into view when the card is opened.

Here I have selected a stamp with three rabbits, some purple and ecru cardstock, neutral brown ink, and a large scallop edge punch. Using the punch, punch out a shape on the front of the card to be a window.

Stamp the image on the ecru cardstock. Color with inks, chalks or color pencils as you wish. A large garden scene would be lovely here as well.

Stamp a greeting under the rabbits. Then stamp or write Happy Easter on a light purple cardstock, and mount on a frame in darker green. Under the window on the card front, glue a strip of patterned paper that coordinates with the card.

Mount the ecru stamped and colored image inside the card on the back.

When the card is closed, only the top rabbit can be seen. On the envelope, put a cute little chick stamp.

One last little detail, add a rhinestone crystal to the upper right for just a bit of sparkle. It is ready to send to someone special! Have fun stamping!
