Super Simple Candy Corn Soap for Autumn or Halloween

If you have ever wanted to try soapmaking but were afraid of working with the chemicals involved, then melt and pour soap is the perfect solution for you. It is super simple and I have even made melt and pour soap with my 3 and 6-year-old Grandsons. We had so much fun and they were so proud to gift the soaps they made to their parents and friends.

This soap is perfect for fall and features traditional candy corn colors that will add some fun to your autumn bathroom decor. It takes about 15 minutes to make this soap minus the time to set up. I let mine set up overnight to be sure it is completely set in the middle

Supplies Needed

• Melt and Pour Soap
• Soap dyes
• Fragrance Oil
• Soap Mold
• Microwaveable bowl
• Thermometer
• Isopropyl Alcohol in Spray Bottle

Making the Soap

Pick out your dye colors and drop the colors randomly into the soap molds. Set aside while you are preparing your soap.

Cut your soap into small chunks about 1/2″ to 1″ in diameter. Only cut what you think you will need for the project. Put the chunks into a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for one minute, then stir soap and heat again for 30 seconds. Repeat in 30-second intervals until the soap is melted. Do not allow soap to boil. I cut about 10 oz. to make three bars of soap.

Let the soap sit until it reaches 145ºF. Once it reaches this temperature you can add the fragrance. I used about half of the bottle of the Candy Corn Fragrance Oil from this box, which I thought was the perfect scent for this soap. Stir thoroughly.

Now you are ready for the fun part. Pour the soap into the molds, filling each about halfway. Spray soap with the alcohol. This will help pop any air bubbles and spread the dye at the same time. Finish filling the molds with the soap and spray once again with alcohol. Let this set up for several hours. I usually let mine sit overnight and unmold them the next day.
