Books are magical already--don't they deserve an enchanting unicorn bookmark to make the experience even better?
This is a project I created for the Unicorn Week series of crafts and projects on my blog, Tikkido. Because the world needs more unicorns and magic, clearly!
The tail was a simple classic tassel made out of this gorgeous variegated yarn I found at my local craft store. It totally looks like unicorn hair, right?
I added a little iridescent thread, too, to add some extra magical shimmer.
The body of the unicorn bookmark is made out of cardstock. I used a cookie cutter to trace the shape so I didn't have to employ any artistic talent. I'm out of practice drawing unicorns. ;-)
I added some inexpensive "lamination" using packing tape, and had the perfect unicorn bookmark!
Suggested materials:
  • Cardstock
  • Yarn
  • Packing tape
