Ha ha , the idea is sort of funny !

I am not making fun of your question, I just know , there wouldn't be a gate that stops my cat ! Good luck ! Maybe explain your situation better , like why you need one , what do you need to keep your cat away from...Then we can answer better.

  • How high can your cat jump?

I have 6 and mine can easily fly over any doggie style pet gate. If I want to keep them out of something, I just put the items I don't want harmed in a closet.

Hi Dorothy! This is not an easy task for most cat owners...unless your cat is advanced in age! We started with a half door and then closed to just one foot open at the top of a standard 7 foot opening. Cat jumped through. Installed a louvered bifold which worked except we had to install a closure device, then a hook, which we replaced with a pin device that the cat could not operate! A friend had a set of interior doors that closed off a 6 foot opening between formal rooms...solid wood at bottom and more open spindles at top half...her cat hung by his claws peering so forlorn through the spindles...till he knocked them out one by one! Perhaps a full screen door...be creative in its attachment if removal is needed?

Thanks for all the responses. Cats are creative!!

I'm trying to keep one small cat separated from another and closing the hallway door messes with the air conditioning. I was hoping if they saw one another more they'd eventually adjust.

The idea of a screen door has crossed my mind and thanks for the links too. I'll check them out.

You could use more than one baby gate in a doorway. Just move up the doorway with 2 or 3 baby gates. Kind of a pain though if you want to easily go in and out through the doorway.
