No Egg Pop, yet. I wonder if it was a play on the Egg Cream drink from NYC in the late 1880s where there was chocolate syrup, seltzer andand milk, no eggs but it was frothy like a whipped egg. Maybe down south they called selzer "pop"? Just a guess. As a Civl War era buff AND a recipe fanatic, this was a great question for me!
Egg Pop I am not familiar with, sifting through vintage recipes . . .

Is Egg Pop a version of Eggnog? Without the 'babyish' milk?? ;)
Try looking in a Bartenders Guide, or Google it.
I think I found it.....made with rum! It was in Civil War recipes from the 1800's. Thanks!
See the response I received from Kim in CA....sounds like the answer to this question. By the way, if you like to read books about the Civil War, look up books by Gwen Koehler and you will see her 3 books....just wonderful and full of facts and interesting tidbits about families in Roswell, GA. President Teddy Roosevelt's parents were married at Bulloch Hall in Roswell, an antebellum mansion. Mittie Bulloch was Teddy's mother. She also worked on a book about the Navy which helped in the War, a fact that many people do not know about.
Books are on Amazon and at Barnes and Noble. If anyone needs the titles of these 4 books in all, I would be glad to post.
